Frequently Asked Questions

The questions buyers ask most before starting a project with us.

1Why do companies choose Shang Ho Plastics as their manufacturing partner?

Two main reasons:

  • Full in-house manufacturing process. From initial manufacturing assessment to mold fabrication and injection molding, everything is handled by the same team. This reduces communication gaps between suppliers and keeps responsibility clear. We can work with anything from a basic concept sketch to a fully developed CAD file.
  • Extensive manufacturing experience catches problems early. Our technical team identifies warpage risks, sink marks, and ejection issues before mold fabrication begins, avoiding costly repeated trial shots.
2What information should I provide to get an accurate quote?

The following information helps us evaluate more quickly:

  • 3D CAD files
  • Estimated Annual Usage (EAU)
  • Order quantity per batch
  • Material requirements and color
  • Special specifications and certifications (e.g., RoHS, REACH, flammability ratings)
  • Other special requirements

Please send the above information to sales@shplastics.com, and we will typically contact you within 1-2 business days.

3Can you provide 3D printing prototypes before committing to mold fabrication?

Yes. We operate an SLA 3D printer for concept validation and design verification before mold fabrication begins. This stage allows design adjustments without tooling costs. After mold fabrication, first trial shot (T1) samples are submitted for client review before production proceeds.

4What is Shang Ho's in-house injection molding machine tonnage range?

We operate multiple in-house injection machines from 50T to 180T. For parts requiring clamping force beyond our in-house range, we coordinate production through a long-term verified partner network capable of supporting up to 600T.

5Which engineering plastics can you process, and are they suitable for structural or industrial applications?

High-performance materials include PPS+GF, PA66+GF, PEI, and POM. These are suitable for extreme environments (such as structural components exposed to long-term thermal cycling or chemical environments), including motor mounts, electric vehicles, marine products, and drone components. Shang Ho also fully supports standard commodity resins (ABS, PP, PC, PMMA), which are commonly used for housings and non-structural parts.

6What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

MOQ depends on project details, with no fixed numbers. Exact MOQ will be confirmed at the quoting stage.

7How long does a complete development process take?

After paying the 30% deposit and confirming the DFM, the first trial shot (T1) typically takes 30 to 80 calendar days, depending on project complexity. If T1 samples require modification, the second trial shot (T2) is completed within approximately 10 working days.

Once final samples are approved, mass production begins. The production schedule will be confirmed based on the specific needs of the project.

8Can you process recycled or sustainable plastic materials?

We have experience using recycled or sustainable materials. Mechanical properties (tensile strength, dimensional stability, impact resistance) differ between virgin and recycled grades and must be evaluated per application. We advise on material selection based on your product requirements and disclose performance trade-offs upfront.
